Anetta Lukjanova (b. 1993) and Taneli Stenberg (b. 1978) are visual artists from Helsinki, Finland. Their large-scale, site-specific murals can be described as contemporary magical realism, often depicting philosophical or allegorical subject matter. With a background in oil painting, they aim to represent topical matters as well as evoke a sense of timelessness through the use of classical aesthetics and colours.
Their mural at Christies gate 13, titled ‘After Party', is inspired by Rodeløkka kolonihager and the secret lives of animals, in this case a rabbit and a mouse competing for berries by chewing and climbing the stalk of a plant. The constellation Ursa Minor (Little Bear), which in Old Norse was called Kvennavagn (woman's chariot), is inspired by the fairy lights on the apartment building opposite.
