Wane One is a graffiti writer, entrepreneur and graphic designer based in New York City and Holyoke, Massachusetts.
His interest in graffiti started in 1978 at the age of 7 when his family moved to New York and he first saw the graffiti writers of the late 70’s and early 80’s produce masterful works of art on the subway cars. 1983 marked the beginning of a life-long love for the art form and a deep appreciation for the culture that surrounded it when Wane painted his first train and soon became an established artist in the New York graffiti scene. Since then he has painted numerous murals all over the US, and in Germany, Sweden, Canada, South Africa, Australia, Denmark, France, Norway, and China. His work has been shown in more than 20 solo and group gallery exhibits around the world.
In addition to painting graffiti Wane runs his company Writers Bench; works as a graphic designer having designed logos for legendary hip-hop groups and artists like Gangstarr, Jeru the Damager and Group Home; and collaborates on projects with well-known brands such as Nike, Reebok, New Balance and RYU.
